  • Power Supply in Offseason

Quick maintaince qx. What do you do with the power supply during the down season? Put on a trickle charge or just recharge when down?

If you're talking about a battery, it's best not to let it burn out totally because you shorten it's life. I put my boat battery and my kayak fishfinder battery on a trickle charge. Costco has the Battery Tender Jr for $40' but I found it on Amazon for $29. I use that for my 12volt/8amp battery. You may need a bigger charger for a bigger battery.

I just put it on the charger every week to keep it topped off. It's a ritual now.

I agree, a battery tender is the way to go.

Same as I do during the season.
Leave it hooked up to the CTEK MUS 4.3.

My electric bill is high enough. I just top them off once a month.

That's what I do with my 2 medium-sized trolling batteries. I hook them up for a few hours @ 2 amp every month.

Maybe he's talking about that time of the month, but his lasts for a whole season? :P

Make sure it is a smart charger.

I'm with Ryan. This is my worst year for seat time because of work but I'm getting every chance I get.
