I trolled to find the fish but once I found them I casted my rattle trap and caught them like that too

I had a specific area in mind from looking at navionics and previous trips. i trolled a few patterns in that area because i kept hooking up.

I finally caught mine trolling while using a 3 inch paddletail with 1/8 oz jighead.

Ditto on Alan's book. I've uped my game since reading the book.
