  • Hooper Island Area

Fished around Hooper Island Area on Sunday from 7:30am-3pm. Started out foggy earlier in the morning which turned into a beautiful sunrise and rest of the day. Temperature went from about 58 - 78. What a beautiful day to be on the water.

Just in case DNR is looking, Goody was nice enough to let me put my fish on his stringer, so he did not poach that 3rd striper... it's mine

Nevertheless, he did outfish me 2-to-1, for sure. I think he had 3 fish on at the same time at one point, lol.

Beautiful day indeed, and the water was as clear as I've seen it in the bay. You could see crabs and turtles laying on the bottom in 4 feet of water.

The area looks like fun place to fish. Were did you put in at and where do you buy that kind of stringer? All I've seen at bass pro are the string or metal chain ones.

"Were did he put in at?" He tells you the area, and you want him to blow up the exact spot on the Internet. I don't know how he will handle that request, but most folks that fish for speckled put in a lot of time, and it is only fair to expect others to do the same.

I will only give general information of the area and share fishing techniques and type of lure used unless you are fishing with me. It's the Hooper Island area. The stringer can be picked up at Walmart. It's a Mustard saltwater stringer made with nylon and stainless steel snaps.

damn, nice job on the specks. i havent caught a keeper since spring. i fished that area(dunno if same spot as you obviously) on saturday, from 9-4. only two dink specks, but 10 rockfish up to 20" and only two of them were under. a few 14" blues too.
