  • 2015 Hobie Outback

    New info and pics.
Some were worried about the seat height in the new outback. Looks like its at the same height as the old seat in the low position.
I'm shocked they didn't use the rectangular hatch though. Guess they don't want it to close to the PA 12.

Looks good. Thanks for posting the link, I was looking all over trying to find a review the past couple days. Anybody have an idea if they have gone to production yet and when they might start shipping?

I might still be getting the Wilderness Thresher next month, but I am now very seriously thinking about getting the outback or maybe a revo 13.

This looks like one of those "big leap" years for Hobie when they roll in a bunch of changes. This is pretty exciting. Now I'm tempted to grab a new one...dammit!

Looks good! The only constant must be the colors.

I just spoke with my sponsoring dealer. They should arrive late september/early october. It could change by dealer depending on when they get their order in. (Shameless plug-If anyone is dead set on a new one, Survival Products order goes out in a few days )

$2300 is likely...maybe $2200, but the dealers have not received the official price list from Hobie as of this morning. The larger fins are standard now, if that takes the sting away.

Are they turbo fins? I'm guessing they are, but haven't seen anything saying that for sure.

What about the rudder; standard or sailing?

Yes they are. Sailing rudder is not included as far as I have heard.

Pretty sure its the ST fins on the outback & revo and turbo on the PA's.
This guy was also saying the new bearings in the drive are plastic so no corrosion issues in salt water.
This video also shows the adjustability of the new seat.
