  • transducer goop

    Do you have to or should you change the transducer goop every year. Do you have to pull out the transducer every year and replace the good as a good preventative maintenance. What does everyone do and what type of goop does everyone use.

    If it ain't broke ........ don't fix it ...... that's my philosophy.

    Besides, goop is more like a glue or silicone .... it's made to stick things together for a long time ........ If it works great leave it alone ........

      agreed....if it works then i wouldnt touch it. i use vaseline on mine and havent touched since last year. works great but ill probably have to add some more before the summer.

        I'm with Mem on that one. Wouldnt touch it. could wind up with a harder time reattaching it with old goop there

                    my transducer has been in goop since 2008-2009

                    if it works this year, then i'll give it an official thumbs up
