I've always wanted to catch a land-locked freshwater striper from the reservoirs. I have tried, unsuccessfully, using traditional methods: trolling stretch 25's and bucktails, casting redfins. I guess it's better to be lucky than good. Caught three of them 'by accident' on Saturday throwing around a shallow running crankbait for LM and SM bass. All good size, too: 30", 24" and 27". The 30" striper might be the biggest fish I've ever caught in my life. All three fish were unbelievably strong fighters and seemed very healthy. Also caught a nice fat 17.25" Largemouth and a lethargic 18.25" Smallmouth. Triadelphia continues to amaze me with the variety of species that can be found there. Only caught five total, but, quality trumped quantity on this beautiful day.

Oh my heavens!!!! Fantastic!!!! If I ever had a day like that at Triadelphia, I'd have to call it quits.
Congratulations. I'm a regular at Triadelphia and it is an amazing and frustrating fishery.
    Well done!!!!

Very Impressive on a very difficult piece of water.

Just in case a bunch of you guys are thinking of heading over to Triadelphia for some easy pickins, don't even think about it. I've never seen anyone with a catch like this in a single outing at Triadelphia in over 20 years of fishing. It is just that hard of a lake. John did awesome. Spring is the time though. I think that is when fishing there is best. I have caught a couple nice Northerns in the Spring at Triadelphia over the years. I must say, I've never trolled Triadelphia, only casting.

Dang John, nice job! Is that the, "If I told you, you wouldn't believe me" crank bait? It's a little different than the brown crank bait I was throwing when we talked the first time. As you saw from pictures in the my thread, I caught my largemouth on a shad rap Saturday and we caught all three bass on it Sunday. The trout I caught on a fat brown crank bait, not quite the same color as yours.

I just showed my daughter your pics too, now she really wants to fish your spot(s). hehe.

Yes that's the one. Of course I broke it the next day at Rocky Gorge so I'll have to find another one. It's a flat sided lure so the wobble is more subtle.

I will bet you actually broke it on those stripers then it finally failed the next day. Linesides are tough on equipment!
