  • Still smell like shad...

You know those days when you haven't caught much in 5+ consecutive trips, you're winter beat and battered, and then you finally catch some good spring fishing.... Yup, finally had my first good day in a loooong time. Lost count at 30 shad prob ended up around 40. All on a 1/4oz inline sinker with 3ft leader of 10lb floro to various darts/jigs/spoons that all worked equally as well (thanks Howard, for the rig idea) Water clearing up and warming up. Shad are here!!!!

Hey, good for you. Shad are a lot of fun, mostly because they are the first hurrah! of the new fishing season. That rig works well with minimal tangling during casting. Any rumors of American shad being caught at Fletchers?

Good work Justin. Many of us have had a slow winter and hope for a day like yours.
