  • Rocky Gorge + Rain = 2 Bass

    Went to Rocky Gorge.
Paddled to a friend's secret spot.
Hooked up with this bass within 5 minutes.

5 minutes later hooked up with this 18 inch bass. Forgot my fish ruler, but put the fish on my paddle. It took up the whole paddle blade.

Rained the whole time. Both fish caught in shallow water right around 6PM.
Gonna get dark soon so paddled back to the car.

Nice work. Rocky Gorge is one of my go to lakes for yak fishing, or at least it was when I stationed here 5+ years ago.

I'm glad I went out. It wasn't too bad really. The air temperature was comfortable. I had waders and two layers of water proof jackets. So overall I was dry with my face and hands being the only thing that got wet.
It's nice to finally catch some fish on a Pointer 78 suspending jerk bait.

It is nice when you fork over $ 15.00 - $ 16.00 for one lure to actually catch something on it.

That is one of the few expensive lures I have used that actually lives up to the price tag.
