Grilled Sardine and I went out of Sandy Point today still in search of some summer rockfish. Tons of spot around to liveline, but man, they are huge! We're getting closer and closer to getting a 12" citation spot! too bad they suck for livelining....unless there is a 30"+ rock around, which hasnt been for us. I ended up with a fat head/skinny body 27" (only reason why i kept it was b/c it was gut hooked) and a 24" which I threw back because of nasty sores on it. i have 4 other runs with one being a monster run, but they spit the hook after the first couple runs. Grilled Sardine caught a 23" and had a good run on a jumbo spot, but it aswell spit the hook. It was brutal out there with the strong wind, current and chop. It would have been really tough fishing if it wasnt for the hobies. good times.
