  • Smithville Lake - Denton, MD

    Went over this morning...

Couple small bass and a couple really nice Pickerel. Place is Lilly pad heaven...like a lot of the eastern shore ponds it's not deep at all (near the damn is 10/11, but everything else is 2-6 ft) much of the pad fields are in 2-3 feet of water, so might be best for paddle guys.

Water temp was between 64-68 degrees...bass came off spinnerbait w/ Colorado blade. Pickerel came off a bubblegum Slug-O (soft plastic jerkbait). Only fished left of the launch...cause apparently thats the 'deeper' part LOL

Fun little jaunt....want to go back in the summer when pads are in full effect and can go Frog crazy. Also would like to troll the 'channel' was 5-6 feet w/ a bunch of structure on the bottom...probably where Crappie hang out.

Sounds like a fun little lake. It does sound like the place for some serious hollow bodied froggin!
