  • October M&G

So call it good luck for me or bad luck for her... for some reason my gf's passport application was declined as needing more information. So that means now I may be able to go the M&G!!!

Which means... how/where do I catch a tog??? I'm always up for catching a new species and I would really like to catch one of those while I'm up there if I can make it.

Anyone have a decent map of the area with planned hot spots?

Thanks surf! I've got a rod rated to 2 ounces that is pretty stiff that I was thinking of bringing with braided line. I also have a rod rated to 4 oz, think I need something that heavy? I know we talked about it in another thread but after more research seems like people use a pretty hefty rig and a lot of weight.

I think I'll bug Wurk2Fish and see what he recommends. I'll know by this weekend if I'll be able to make it.

ive never caught tog from the yak only boats but they pull 2x as hard as a stripper and the bite is so suttle it can be frustrating for a while until you get the feel, braid helps to feel the soft bite and get them out of thier holes.

we have 6 now if you can make it thats lucky 7
