  • Susky @ Harrisburg, 9-11-12

I fished the Susquehanna River a few miles upriver of Harrisburg, 9-11-12, 9:30am to 2:30pm. I had a pretty good day of fishing… matter-of-fact, it was outstanding. I caught 11 nice smbass: Seven that were nearly identical 18-19 inchers and four in the 13”-15” range. All of them were in very good condition, very fat. Fish were scattered throughout extensive boulder filled 2’-4’ shallows. On the down-side, there appeared to be hardly any bass smaller than 13”. All-in-all a very good day of fishing. All bass caught on 4” soft plastic minnows, opening night, rigged with exposed hook (see pic), and fished on the surface. I superglue the lures to a hook that has been built-up with thread and epoxy.

    Beautiful fish.
    Beautiful pictures.
    Beautiful river.

It's sad that the smallies are unable to reproduce up there.

What's it going to be like when all the big bass die?

Thanks for showing the lures you use and how you rig them.
