Sorry for late report but left town shortly after fishing last Friday AM and just returned. For those who are missing larger rocks, don't give up hope. I went out of Hemmingways at 7am, picked up my spot and by 8:30am I boated a nice 13 lb'er. Not a monster by any means but fun anyway. He was very clean. Caught others that were smaller (all among the larger pilings) and all were clean.

Great to hear. How were the blues?

The blues were hungry and thick. I thought I had enough spots when I hit a dozen and they were packed in my bucket, but the blues plowed through them. All in all, I used about two dozen spot to catch six/hook six rocks.

Sounds familiar! I think I went through about 2 or 3 dozen last time. I out I'll chunk up the ones that die on the line and chum a little bit, just to see what I can get stirred up. Probably just get attacked by piranha blues.

Sounds like you had a great day though. Do you fish week day mornings often?

Not really. Wife was out of town with the kids so I took advantage! I did some chumming with the remnants of the spots and they didn't last two seconds before the blues slammed them. I kept moving around to try to get away from blues but they were everywhere. And there were huge schools of baitfish in the shadows. I also put in down at Poplar Island Saturday evening but just got hammered by blues and didn't get a single rock.
