  • Rappahannock River - Near Tappahannock VA

Fished Friday night, Saturday morning and sunday midday between partying with friends and family and attending the 10th annual Tappahannock Oyster Roast.

    Tarpet Species was Bluecatfish.

Bait used was cut gizzard shad on a 6/0 circle hook.

Total catch for the three day period was 36 bluecats, 2 strippers and 1 white perch. (We also lost a 6-7 lb bowfin at the boat)

The cats ranged from 1 lb to 10 lbs no hogs but still a good time and manage about 30 lbs of fresh bluecat fillets.

    Until next weekend.

Nice work on the cats. Sounds like there was an excellent fish fry. Where did you get the gizzard shad?
