  • Hello All

Just got into Kayak fishing and have been reading awhile. Thought it was time to join in on the conversations. I mainly do freshwater fishing locally.

Welcome, where do you normally fish. Maybe you will try the saltwater outing on Sat 10th at Hemmingways .

Thanks for the Welcome.I mainly fish the Potomac river in Washington County area. I also like to fish Greenbrier state park lake, Cunningham Falls and once in a while Piney Run Reservoir, Little Seneca lake. I would like to try a little salt water fishing after getting used to kayaking. Is a 10'6 kayak to small for saltwater fishing?

            no - 10'6 isn't too small for SW, I fish a 10' boat

Probably more of an issue is whether you fish a SIK or SOT.

I think SOTs are safer in chop but...that's just my opinion.

Dose anyone use a SIK for SW because I have a SIK kayak. I might be a little concerned about being in choppy water in mine
