  • PVC Rod Holder "tree"

I know we had a thread a little while back about the PVC rod holder "trees" that people had built, but i cant seem to find it. Today, I decided to try to build one that has two straight-up rod holders and two trolling rod holders and the option to attach a trotline prop stick. After getting into it, I realized that I didn't have enough pipe and didn't feel like heading out to get it. I'll probably finish next weekend. Anyways, can those that have made these post some pics? If I see your designs, i might change mine up a little...

Here's mine, Fits the outback and the new pro angler.

I can also attach some on the side like a crabbing trot line.

In the first picture, on the left side, you have a piece that is pointing forward about parallel with the kayak. What is that piece for? Also, what is that piece in the second picture for?

On the left is nothing really, just shows I can still attach something at that point for either trolling holders or crabbing prop.

2nd is what is put into the rod holder on the boat

And for some of the other ones, Jacks.... I just remembered the name of the thread has to do with "REvo Drilling" so search that.

Is that 1.5" pipe? Fits in existing rod holders tight?

PVC pipe is great. I am thinking of making my own fish attractors, with concrete and small PVC pipe. I will create my own private fish haven.

              Nice looking rod holders.

1.5" pipe yes, then had to taper down to 1.25" to fit the flush mount. then I strapped down to secure.

For crabbing, what's the dimension of the crabbing piece? I mean the height and the width from the end of pipe (gunwale). I am thinking 2.5 feet (height) and 3 feet out.

                  Thanks,
                  Joe

Sounds like quite a few of us are planning to use a trotline this year. Not to jack this thread but maybe this summer we can have a "Crabbing" M&G. I can volunteer to put it together. Just a thought
