I used up all my credits and decided to hit VB for the last time this season.

    Saturday - Kipto

Winds were nasty at about 20 knots and waves 3-4 ft so our only choice was to hide behind the ships. Working on the right side, I managed to hook a black bass and small flounder drifting along the ships. The current was still moving hard so I didn't try too hard for togs but there were plenty of stealers for the blue crab. We moved on to the left side where the current started to slack and shift to the outgoing. It was also a lot calmer there. Saw a small john boat and they told us they had some togs so we decided to hunt for them. I ended up hooking up 2 togs and with the biggest at 15 1/2 and the other right at 14 but too close to keep so I let him/her go. Good thing too because the warden checked later on. It is true that tog put up a great fight and the trick was to just set the dam hook every 2 taps because it could be bait stealers or togs.

    Sat Night - HRBT

How should I put this? It sucked. Winds did not die down as forecasted and we got tired of fighting waves again after doing it in the morning. Only managed a small flounder and called it quits.

    Sunday - Lynnhaven

Fished for a few hours and it was nice to be in a calm body of water with everyone and their mother there. Everyone was trying to spec and there were tons of little specs all around. My friend managed to get a 18" keeper and I got smallies and couldn't not find any flounders where they usually should be. I also think the last storm changed the sloughs in the middle.

So it was a great start but I whimpered to the finish line. However, I'm addicted to Tog now and can't wait for the next time.

I couldn't even go inside. The chop was so bad, it was slamming the water around. It was at least 3-4 ft on the other side of the ship. The john boat and us were the only ones out that day by the ships.

I snapped my MH Vendetta rod trying to get out of a snag situation. The price to pay for hooking up but worth it . Now I can get another Cumara and not feel bad.

                  Damm that's a beast. I usually keep it 6'8 - 7'.

Thanks for the link. I have to think about it.

It is a good deal. The best I seen for a 6'8 rod is around $165 on ebay. I know tackle warehouse has the 20% off black friday deal every year also.

My first ever video and I was lucky I got the tog on video.
