I was wondering what most do. I have thule roof rack for my car. do most keep on all year or do they take them off during the winter months.

This will be my first winter with my roof rack. If we are forecasted to get moderate snow, I might take mine off...just for the ease of snow removal from the roof.

I left it on year-round back when I had a Suburban, and I leave it on year-round on my wife's VW Golf. The rack was a PITA to remove from both vehicles. Plus, I do still do some fishing during the winter. It's not that hard to remove snow from around the rack.

Same story here- It is PITA to take off and put back, so I'll probably just leave them on-

Hmmm...mine just clamps down on to the frame of the car for an easy removal.

Same here but you you are supposed to measure the front distance and center to center distance to set these racks back on the car-

when i mounted my roof carrier i took a sharpie marker and made small marks on the inside of the door opening so when i have to put it back on.... just line up the carrier with the marks and tighten........ ""bent rods and tight lines my friends""
