  • Chesapeake Beach 6/4

Saterday, I fished Chesapeake Beach on my buddies boat and what day. A bit choppy in the morning but died down in the afternoon. We caught 4 stripers in the morning...all between 22-26inches. We missed a couple strikes also as we had a newbee fisherman on the boat. In the afternoon the striper bite died. We moved around quite a bit an nothing until we reached this one spot. I got a big hit so I started reeling this thing in, and it was a 17inch croaker. It was just shy of 18inches. I wanted that citation so bad..lol So stuck around the same spot and kept getting these monster croakers. They were all between 15-17inches. We ended up reeling in the lines around 7 because there was a storm moving in or else we would of stayed out there longer. The bite was still hot.

We ended up 4 striper and about 20 monster croaker.

jebus. how much did you put on a hook? did you use rubber bands to hold them on the hook?

a few years ago, i was catching close to citation sized croakers under the bay bridge (first week of june) using a surf and turf cocktail of blood worms and shrimp. they wouldnt hit the bait if it was just bloods or shrimp, but together, it was on!

warrens bait shop in glen burnie. reys seafood on rt 2 in severna park should have some too. never got to use one this weekend but froze them for next time. i use waxed rigging floss to tie them on really helps when casting but from the yak realy not necessary
