  • Schoolie striper south of Augustine Beach

Went out yesterday a few miles south of Augustine beach. Was a sheet of glass till around 12:30. Caught 6 Striper biggest being 24". Also caught a ton of white perch. Trolled on my way out and got nothing. Switched to bloodworms and the bite was on. All fish were caught in the first 2 hours of incoming tide.IMG_20150321_202105.jpgIMG_20150321_151032.jpgIMG_20150321_095316930.jpg

Where do you actually launch from?

Do you actually use the ramp/beach at St Augustine or use one of the tidal creeks further down Rt9?

Silver run is the name of the creek. There is a small ramp next to the bridge. That creek puts you just north of Sam Greens beach. Which is were I was at.

                  Joe

How was the tide heading back to the silver Run ramp? I have fished from the bridge there but I am a little hesitate to take the yak out.

It is a strong current. If you have a Hobie you should be fine but don't know if I'd try to paddle it. Time your tides right and it can be done.

Thanks. That's kinda what I was thinking. I'll just stick to launch from Augestine Beach.

I've done it from a paddle yak years ago but I had the right tides. It's a great spot to put you on some deep holes...just gotta be careful

Wow, that's only an hour from my house. Any issues with parking at the ramp, just pull off into the gravel?

I've never had any issues. I back up to the ramp unload and pull up so I don't block the ramp. Only about 2 spots for trucks.

I'm scared to kayak in the river period. But I'm tempted because it's so close to where I live. We go a mile out into the bay sometimes, wave crashing over our legs even....don't know why the Delaware river bothers me.
