Lots of fun fishing over the weekend, basically no one out there, haha. Went to the outer wall Saturday AM, very stupid of me but a true test of skill. Then back to the inner wall and caught a wide variety of fish. All in all caught 8 species of fish, CHSP continues to impress me with its "amazingness".

    My first kayak Trigger!

Not pictured, are blues, sharks and a lot more croakers.

I've heard people refer to them as Toadfish, a first for me! I caught two of them, they smelled like mud and had very interesting pebble shaped teeth. Fought similar to a flounder.

Congrats on those firsts, not to mention the many species! I heard toads are tasty, so I tried them fried over a year ago. Ugly yes, but they're pretty good tasting. The small ones have lots of little bones. Better to try the big ones.

Fish there in the late spring and you'll get all the toads you could ever want. Nice trig, still looking for my first

Shady - I was really surprised how much it pulled! Great fight and holy cow amazing to eat; 3 parts pancake mix to 1 part old bay and then fry in 1/2" of oil...simply amazing taste and very hearty. I hope to catch more when I'm down a few weekends in October if they are still around, not sure what there perfect temperatures are though. Talking to Joe at LHM he mentioned some of them still being at site 6 and site 7.
