  • Opening Day 4.18.09

So featherpop, her dad, his friend and I entered the boatyard bar and grill rockfish tournament for opening day. lines wet by 7ish and not a hit until about noon, when a reel on the rocket launcher started screaming...at first I thought it was a snag or loose drag as I didnt have much hope for us, but when I picked up the rod, i felt that sweet sweet tug. Tried to let featherpop reel her in but since she was sleeping, she was out of it, and I brought her in. 34.75" and a fat 20lbs about 100yards south of the bay bridge on the east side. Not even close to place in the tournament, the winner was a 48.5" caught under the bay bridge, but we had a great day~

Didn't have much hope for us? Isn't hope the most important thing to have when fishing?
